Young woman, 36, who died after plunging 80metres down a waterfall is identified – as her devastated partner pays tribute to his ‘beautiful lady’

A woman who died after falling 80metres from a waterfall has been remembered as a ‘beautiful lady’ in a moving tribute from her grieving partner.

Kate Cooper, 36, fell to her death at Mapleton Falls on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast around 3.30pm on Friday. 

Despite the efforts of paramedics, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Queensland Police described the death as non-suspicious and said a report would be prepared for the coroner. 

An 18-year-old man who was with her at the time was also injured and was rushed to Nambour Hospital in a serious condition. 

Ms Cooper’s partner, Simon Rosenkranz, was left devastated by the loss.

Photos shared on their social media pages showed the couple shared a deep love for travel and time spend outdoors and with friends and family. 

Mr Rosenkranz shared the heartbreaking news on social media on Saturday morning.

Mr Rosencranz said he was in disbelief following the loss of his 'beautiful lady'

‘Rest in peace my love. You were one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met and made me feel so loved,’ he wrote alongside images of the pair. 

‘I’ll miss and love you more every day and cherish the memories we made. Can’t believe you’re gone.

‘I love you, beautiful lady.’

His post was flooded with messages of love and support from devastated loved ones, many of whom appeared to have been unaware of her passing until reading the tribute. 

‘I only spoke to her a few days ago. Big hugs to you, my heart goes out to you and the family,’ one woman wrote. 

Another woman said she had only been messaging Ms Cooper about the falls the day prior while another said she would ‘forever be missed’. 

‘So sorry for your loss, Simon. I could tell how happy you made each other. Always here if you need a chat mate,’ one man wrote. 

‘Rest in peace, my dear Kate. Your kindness, smiles and jokes will forever resonate in our hearts,’ another woman said. 

‘Thank you for the time you let us spend with you. You will never be forgotten.’
