A man has been questioned by police after another was critically injured when he allegedly attacked with a baseball bat during a street brawl in a suburban street.
Emergency services were called to a reserve at Byrnes St in South Granville about 5.40pm on Sunday following reports of a melee involving multiple males.
A man aged in his 20s was found at the scene with serious injuries and was rushed to Westmead Hospital with a police escort in a critical condition.
CCTV from a nearby home timestamped 35 minutes earlier showed dozens of men in the reserve before a man suddenly flees down the street.
A group of at least seven men give chase after him along the footpath and in the middle of the road.
