"Xinhua": Egyptian-Chinese relations are getting stronger after 10 years of comprehensive strategic partnership

The Chinese news agency “Xinhua” reported Egypt and China bid farewell to the year 2024 with stronger bilateral cooperation relations over the past decade under the 2014 agreement to raise relations between the two countries to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership, noting that on the tenth anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, the year 2024 witnessed fruitful achievements of cooperation between Egypt and China in Fields.

The Chinese agency explained – in a report broadcast today, Friday – that in late May 2024, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi visited, China, where he held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

After the talks, the Chinese and Egyptian presidents witnessed the signing of bilateral cooperation documents in various fields, which included a plan to enhance cooperation in joint construction of the Belt and Road, scientific and technological innovation, And investment and economic cooperation.

The two presidents appreciated the two countries’ signing of the executive program for the comprehensive strategic partnership for the years 2024-2028 in January 2024, which is a roadmap to advance relations to a higher level. Based on the tangible achievements achieved over the past years, according to a joint statement issued at the conclusion of the visit.

Sisi expressed his appreciation to President Xi for introducing a series of global initiatives, and said that Egypt is ready to work closely with China in cooperation. Multilateral to make positive contributions to peace and progress for humanity.

During last September 4, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly participated in the Forum for China-Africa Cooperation “FOCAC” In Beijing, Madbouly confirmed in an interview with Xinhua News Agency: On the sidelines of the forum – Egypt and China have formed a framework for multi-level cooperation, pointing to the specificity of the extended relations between the two countries.

He stressed that “Egypt’s endeavor to consolidate cooperative relations with the Chinese side applies the slogan of achieving gains for all without monopolizing one party.” At the expense of the other,” adding that “Egypt appreciates the tangible progress achieved by Egyptian-Chinese cooperation relations in the last decade.” Two weeks before the end of the year, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Affairs of Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdel-Aty, traveled to Beijing, and chaired, with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, the strategic dialogue between the two countries on December 13.

Abdel-Aty said in a joint press conference. At the conclusion of the strategic dialogue – “China is a valued partner of Egypt, and a partner of ours in the development process that we are proud of, and we value the role of Chinese companies in advancing the process of modernization and development in Egypt.”

He stressed that relations with China are witnessing “tangible development.” In various areas of cooperation, most notably political consultation between the two countries and the close convergence in the positions of the two countries towards regional and international issues.

China and Egypt stressed – in a joint statement at the conclusion of the strategic dialogue – “advancing bilateral relations to move forward towards a higher goal.” It is the Chinese-Egyptian community’s establishment of a common future towards the new era.”

China has been Egypt’s largest trading partner for 12 consecutive years, and its investments in Egypt are witnessing increasing growth. During his visit to Beijing, Madbouly witnessed the signing of final contracts with Chinese companies to implement new projects in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, according to a statement by the Egyptian government.
