Woman found murdered in room of $1,250-a-night A-List Hamptons wellness hotel

A woman has been found murdered in a luxury $1,250-a-night Hamptons wellness hotel and spa.

Staff discovered the body of Sabina Rosas, 33, inside a guest room at the Shou Sugi Ban House in Water Mill on Monday afternoon.

Suffolk County police has called the death suspicious and said the woman was a victim of violence. 

Officials said the death appeared to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.

They have not released a name for the victim or a cause of death. 

An autopsy is expected to determine how the woman was killed. 

Shou Sugi Ban House is ‘a private sanctuary and gated compound surrounded by evergreen trees and lush grasses.’

The retreat, which opened in 2019, has been featured on goop, Vogue and Conde Nast Traveler, among other luxury publications.

It offers 13 guest studios across three acres as well as ‘standalone luxury residences for short-term rentals,’ according to its website.

The studios, which accommodate up to to guests, offer a ‘luxurious soaking tub,’  modern gas fireplace, and private garden patios.

Former guests of the hotel include actress Kate Hudson and journalist Katie Couric.

DailyMail.com has reached out to the hotel for comment. They are still to comment on the killing.

Residents of the area told News 12 Long Island they were left shocked by the apparent murder at the high-end retreat.

‘It’s total shock, it’s got a good reputation that place and [I’ve] never heard a bad thing about it. I know people who have used it,’ said one local.
