Like most reality TV shows, Married At First Sight (MAFS) has fallen victim to a botched edit. However, it appears that a cheeky, squeaky fart has made it past the MAFS editing room and into Sunday night’s episode. But did someone *really* fart on MAFS 2025?
Last Sunday hosted one of the most tense Commitment Ceremonies we’ve had in a while, with the experts — John Aiken, Mel Schilling and Alessandra Rampolla — coming for everyone’s necks!
However, during one of those heated ouch couch moments, multiple MAFS fans noticed that someone had passed gas.
“Are we not gonna address that fart?” one MAFS viewer questioned in a now-viral TikTok.
Was it nerves? Was it a brain-rot edit made by MAFS producers? Or was it all a distraction in the lead-up to the emotional cheating scandal of Adrian Araouzou and Sierah Stone?

When did the Married At First Sight 2025 fart happen?
In Episode 13, controversial couple Ryan Donnelly and Jacqueline Burfoot were up on the ouch couch when the alleged fart happened.
Right after Alessandra questioned their behaviour at the dinner party, where they came through as “a united front, a team” before it crumbled down, someone let it rip.
When the mystery gas passed through the ceremony, the camera was on Ryan and Jacqui.
Who farted on Married At First Sight 2025?
While the pair didn’t seem to notice the squeaker, MAFS fans on TikTok reckon the culprit could be Ryan, who seemed to be nervous after he was told off during the dinner party for his fucked comments.
“We had to rewind to make sure we weren’t hearing things! Ryan was nervous I guess,” one TikToker commented.
“Looked like it was Ryan,” another punter wrote.
Another viewer commented it was Jacqui, in hopes of gaining a compliment from her hubby.
“She farted because she wanted to hear Ryan say your farts a beautiful,” they joked.
As someone who continuously rewatches episodes of MAFS for work, here’s what I think.
Did someone really fart on Married At First Sight?
While it does sound like one of those muffle farts — you know, those farts where you press your ass crack so hard in the couch cushions in hopes of softening the blow — I believe that it was actually Jacqui going, “mmm” or “hmm” in response to Alessandra.
As you can see, the alleged Miss New Zealand looks like she’s taking in what the MAFS expert is trying to say. Following Alessandra’s statement, Jacqui is the first one to respond.
This theory has also been echoed amongst other viewers, with one TikTok user saying it “was definitely Jacqui going ‘mmm’”. However, other viewers insist it was a cheeky poot.
Right now, Jacqui hasn’t taken to her Instagram Stories to comment on MAFS fart gate, but I feel pretty strongly that it was an “mmm” instead of a fart.
But I guess we’ll have to wait for one of her iconic rogue responses.
