Where To Watch ‘Gladiator’: Is Ridley Scott’s 2000 Film Streaming?

Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal will bring viewers back to the world of Ridley Scott’s Gladiator (2009) when the sequel film in which they star lands in theaters Nov. 22. Mescal will portray Lucius, the son of Connie Nielsen’s Lucilla, from the first film, and Neilsen will reprise her role from the 1992 film.

Ridley Scott’s first Roman Empire film, starring Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix and Connie Nielsen, will be available to stream on Prime Video starting Nov. 1. The film is also available to stream on Paramount+ and Fubo. It is available to rent on Apple TV+, Fandango At Home, Spectrum and Microsoft.

What is Gladiator about?

Ridley Scott’s 2000 film focused on Russell Crowe’s Maximus, a former Roman General who seeks revenge against the corrupt emperor who killed his family and sent him into slavery. Joaquin Phoenix played Commodus, who killed his own father, emperor Marcus Aurelius (Richard Harris) out of jealousy that Aurelius selected Maximus to be heir to the title of emperor.

Lucius is the nephew of the late Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), who murdered his father Marcus Aurelius (Richard Harris) to take the throne in the first Gladiator (2000). Lucius is also Marcus Aurelius’  (Richard Harris) grandson.
