Thanksgiving is here, and while many American families have spent days prepping for their big turkey feast, chances are that many will need to make a last minute run to the grocery store.

Some families may opt to stay clear of the kitchen and go out for a Thanksgiving meal at a restaurant.

But as several stores and restaurants are closed during the holiday, people may find their options limited.

Here is what you need to know about which major retailers and fast food chains you will be able to visit, and which will be keeping their doors closed.

Walmart

Retailer Walmart will not be open this Thanksgiving, but it will be operating as normal tomorrow, welcoming customers who want to bag the best Black Friday deals from 6am.

In a press release, the firm said: ‘[The] company will close nearly all of its stores and pharmacies for the second consecutive year to give team members time with their loved ones’.

However, 24-hour locations will remain open to ‘meet customer and patient healthcare needs’.

Target

For the fifth year in a row, Target will remain closed on Thanksgiving, but like Walmart, it will be opening its doors bright and early tomorrow morning ahead of the Black Friday sales.

Sam’s Club

Sam’s Club will follow suit, but its staying one step ahead of its competition by opening up online Black Friday deals on Thanksgiving before it resumes to its normal operating hours tomorrow.

Trader Joe’s

The supermarket will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but it will reopen the next day for Black Friday.

Hours will differ for each store on the busiest shopping day of the year.

Walgreens

Walgreens stores will be closed on Thanksgiving this year but will reopen again on Friday.

Opening and closing times will vary by store tomorrow.

Whole Foods

According to its website, the supermarket says its stores will remain open on Thanksgiving, but with modified hours.

This also includes Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. It will, however, be closed in on Christmas Day.

Dollar Tree

You can visit Dollar Tree this Thanksgiving from 8am to 5pm.

Stores in Maine, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, however, will remain closed in accordance to state law.

CVS

CVS will be open on Thanksgiving even though some stores will be operating with modified opening times.

You can check what time your local drugstore will be open from on their official website.

As for Black Friday, CVS will open as normal.

Starbucks

Starbucks will be open on Thanksgiving Day but the coffee shop’s opening and closing times will vary depending on the location

Good news for the coffee lovers. Starbucks will be open on Thanksgiving Day. But while usual operating hours are from 6am to 9pm, the coffee shop’s opening and closing times will vary depending on the location.

The same applies for Black Friday, but either way, Americans will be caffeinated this turkey season.

Dunkin’ Donuts

The coffee and donut chain will also remain open on Thanksgiving Day, opening times will remain limited.

McDonald’s

McDonald has said it will stay open for Thanksgiving

Those not cooking this holiday will thankful knowing that most McDonald’s locations will remain open on Thanksgiving.

While hours may vary by location, you will still be able to enjoy a festive Big Mac or a Holiday Pie.

Nordstrom

Nordstrom stores will be closed today but will be opening earlier than usual tomorrow of Black Friday AND will also stay open late.

Burger King

The fast food chain has said that some of its restaurants will remain open today but holudat hours will vary by franchised location.

Diners can check their local opening hours online.

Popeyes

Many Popeyes restaurants will stay open too, but visitors are encouraged to check opening times as they will vary by location.

7-Eleven

A majority of 7-Eleven locations will stay open 24/7 with some locations operating with adjusted hours. Local hours can be looked up online.

Jimmy John’s

While many Jimmy John’s will be open on Thanksgiving, guests are encouraged to look up local hours before visiting.

Wendy’s

The beloved fast-food burger chain will mainly be operating as normal, but visitors have been encouraged to look up their opening times before attending.

Wegmans

Stores will be open until 4 pm on Thanksgiving, except for the following Massachusetts locations: Northborough, Chestnut Hill, Burlington, Westwood, and Medford, which close at midday today.
