Weekly harvest…the most prominent activities and achievements of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research

The General Administration of the Media Office and official spokesman for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research issued a report reviewing the Ministry’s most prominent activities and achievements during a week. The report addressed the efforts made in various fields that enhance the development of higher education and scientific research in Egypt, and demonstrates the Ministry’s commitment to supporting societal and developmental issues. Multiple, as follows:

 (1) Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, participated in a discussion session within the activities of the annual conference of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, and during the event he stressed The Minister said that the establishment of colleges and institutes specialized in the field of caring for people with disabilities is being expanded, with the goal of preparing and qualifying specialized graduates capable of optimally dealing with this important segment of society in a scientific and professional manner. Dr. Ayman Ashour also reviewed the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the field of supporting and caring for students. People with disabilities in various Egyptian universities, which comes in implementation of the directives of the political leadership in this file, stressing the continuation of cooperation with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities; With the aim of completing support and care plans and programs and making all services available to students with disabilities in all universities and institutes; In a way that ensures the achievement of social justice.

 (2) Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, witnessed the opening of the Forum for Graduates of Soviet and Russian Universities, in the presence of Mr. Georgy Evgenievich Borisenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Arab Egypt, and Mr. Pavel Anatolyevich Shevtsov, Vice President of the Russian Agency for International Cooperation, and in his speech, Dr. Ashour indicated his pride in his years of study in Moscow during The doctoral stage, and its role in shaping a large part of his scientific and professional experiences, which had its mark on his work in many national projects, pointing out his keenness during his period in charge of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to support academic and research relations between Egypt and Russia through the signing of cooperation agreements, including; Establishment of two branches of Kazan University and St. Petersburg University.

(3)  Karam Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Eng. Mustafa Al-Sayed on the occasion of receiving the bronze medal as the third best invention in the world in the field of energy, during the International Exhibition of Inventions held in South Korea. During the honoring activities, mechanisms for providing support from the Ministry of Higher Education were discussed. The project and its implementation on the ground, which contributes to serving Egypt and supporting its efforts towards achieving sustainable development.

(4)  Egyptian universities achieved distinguished results at the Arab level in the Times (THE) classification for Arab countries, where  This version of the classification highlighted Egypt as one of the most represented countries on the list, with the inclusion of 42 Egyptian universities, and praised the continuous improvement in the quality of higher education and scientific research in Egypt, which was reflected in many Egyptian universities achieving tangible progress in their ranking within the classification, and proving their ability to compete. Arab, by improving scientific research and enhancing internationalization and international partnerships.

(5)  Egypt participated for the first time in the Ninth Forum for Young Scientists, which was held in the city of Sochi, Russia, in cooperation between the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and the Fund for Innovators and Geniuses. Dr. Ayman Ashour stressed that the forum represents an important platform for enhancing international cooperation in the fields of science and technology, and reflects Egypt’s interest in supporting its scientists. And its innovative youth, and the minister added that this participation is the first of its kind since Egypt joined the BRICS group.

(6)  The Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture participated in the activities of the 19th session of the Conference of Ministers and Officials of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Arab World, entitled “A flexible higher education system that keeps pace with rapid and steady global changes,” and Dr. stated. Ayman Ashour said that Egypt’s participation in the activities of the 19th session of the Conference of Ministers and Those Responsible for Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Arab World comes as an affirmation of Egypt’s firm commitment to supporting joint Arab cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research, in a way that enhances the collective capabilities to keep pace with rapid global changes and achieve the goals of Sustainable development.
