Watch Tyler Adams score a 30-yard ROCKET to put USMNT 1-0 up vs. rivals Mexico in CONCACAF Nations League Final… as midfielder marks his first start in 478 days in style
After battling injuries to his legs for over a year, USMNT midfielder Tyler Adams marked his return to the starting XI for the United States with a howitzer of a goal for his final contribution of the night.
Adams came on as a substitute in the team’s poor performance against Jamaica – a game the USA won 3-1 after extra time.
But the Bournemouth man made his mark with a cannon of a shot from over 30 yards out that sailed perfectly into the top left corner to give the Americans a 1-0 lead at the half.
The shot caused shock and awe throughout the stadium – from commentators, writers, and fans as Adams ran over to the sidelines and leaped into the arms of coach Gregg Berhalter.
Jesse Marsch, who coached Adams with the New York Red Bulls and at Leeds United, said, ‘I’ve sat at training and passed him the ball from 30 yards out to shoot… and he’s never, ever in his life hit a ball like that.’
