Viral video has the world questioning if ‘Australia is a different planet’ – but not everyone is impressed

Huge crowds of people getting up early and being active on Bondi Beach beneath a stunning pink and orange sunrise has made a new arrival question whether Aussies are a different breed.
Molly-Mae, who recently moved to Australia from the northern hemisphere, captured scenes of the packed Sydney beach on foreshore at 6am on Friday.
She uploaded footage of the sunrise to TikTok where she admired the dedication of Australians to brave the early morning compared to the rest of the world.
‘I swear Australia is a different planet. Everyone else in the world: snooze alarm. People in Bondi Australia…,’ she captioned the video.
‘No hangovers here, just run clubs, surfers, coffees and sunrises.’
Hundreds of spectators flocked to the sun-kissed beach to witness the beautiful sunrise.
But social media users offered mixed reactions to the video, with many claiming it made them want to move down under, while others said the beach was ‘terrible’.
A handful of locals elaborated on the lack of hangovers in the city by citing its lockout laws which see bars closing early enough for beachgoers to get a good night’s sleep.
Molly-Mae shared a video of Bondi Beach at 6am which featured dozens, if not hundreds, of beachgoers piling onto the sand to enjoy the sunrise at 6am on Friday
Those who were amazed by the scenes said how beautiful the beach was and agreed it was worth waking up early to enjoy it.
‘This is 1000x better of a way to live than drinking and wasting away your mornings in bed’, one said.
‘The best way to start the day is have coffee while watching the day start in the sky,’ another added.
Those overseas were left split between wanting to move to Australia or simply visit to get a glimpse of the view with their own eyes.
‘FINE, I’m moving there’, one wrote while a second said: ‘This just confirmed that my next trip needs to be here.’
Detractors however were quick to lament how overrated, expensive and overcrowded the area was.
‘Over crowded, over priced [and] pretentious,’ one person quipped.
‘Such an awful place,’ another piled on.
‘Way too many people,’ said a third.
‘Give me cold and rainy any day,’ a fourth said.
Bondi Beach attracts about 2.9million visitors a year, making it one of Australia’s most visited tourist spots.
