Married At First Sight (MAFS) intruder bride Veronica Cloherty has responded to the scathing rumours that she and Dave Hand hooked up during the controversial partner swap challenge.
ICYMI, the MAFS world has been buzzing with cheating rumours between Veronica and Dave after he completely switched up on his on-screen wife Jamie Marinos.
Prior to the big “switch-up”, Dave and Jamie were one of the strongest couples of the season, with the pair constantly standing up for each other when it came to confrontations. However, after Jamie confessed her love to the self-proclaimed gentle giant, Dave had seemingly pulled back from the relationship.
Things worsened during Feedback Week when the experts implemented a partner swap where Dave and Veronica were paired. With the magic that is reality TV editing, it appeared that Veronica and Dave had a very strong connection and some chemistry throughout their three-day swap, which led to viewers believing that the pair might’ve done the dirty on their assigned couples.
Jamie and Dave’s relationship eventually imploded during last Wednesday’s Dinner Party when the whole called out the groom for his sudden bitterness towards his beloved ‘wife’.
Alongside the criticisms of Dave’s change, Adrian Araouzou and Eliot Donovan stirred the pot, alluding that the groom and Veronica got up to something during the challenge. However, both parties denied any wrongdoing during the Dinner Party festivities.
Did MAFS‘ Dave Hand cheat on Jamie Marinos with Veronica Cloherty?
Speaking to the MAFS Funny podcast, hosted by Joshua Fox, the former Miss Universe Australia contestant shut down any whispers of infidelity, stating that her relationship with Dave was purely platonic.
“I find it so hilarious that this whole thing is circulating in this way. I’ve actually been abstinent for almost two years,” she dished.
“I think everyone is just looking for someone to blame, to be honest, and I’m an easy target given how everything’s been unfolding for me recently.”

Previously, both Jamie and Dave denied any cheating between the groom and Veronica during a mammoth tea spill with online publication Chattr.
While Jamie said she didn’t believe her ‘husband’ and Veronica had shagged, she did think that the intruder bride had a “hard on” for Dave.
“[Veronica] didn’t put my mind at ease. I don’t think Veronica knows how to be a friend,” Jamie said before admitting that she wished Dave was paired with someone else.
“She had made comments that she thought highly of Dave [in the past]… obviously she was flirting her ass off [during the partner swap].
“I don’t think cheating is something that Dave morally could ever succumb to like that’s one thing he [has] quite [a] firm belief on.”
Dave added that he and Veronica only shared a “friendship” during their partner swap and that cheating “goes against my morals”.
“I’m not going to sleep with someone jumping in my bed for one or two nights, it’s not how it works, especially when I’m married to someone else,” Dave said.
“It’s a bit ridiculous that people would think that, but yeah, it definitely goes against my morals.”

While I am completely outraged with how Dave and Jamie’s relationship is panning out, I am very glad it doesn’t involve any cheating.
That definitely would’ve been my final straw for this season. But with couples like Beth Kelly and Teejay Halkias, and Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels, I have teenie wee bit of hope for MAFS 2025.
Married At First Sight returns tonight on Channel Nine and 9Now.
