The administration of US President Joe Biden has approved the supply of Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS) to Ukraine.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Washington intends to announce the allocation of an appropriate aid package already next week (May 30 – June 5).
According to the newspaper’s sources, the MLRS, which is to be sent to Kyiv, can strike “tens of miles more than any artillery facility” that the Ukrainian army currently has.
In addition, Ukraine will receive HIMARS systems, which have approximately the same firing range, but these vehicles move on a wheeled chassis.
The day before, CNN reported that the United States may announce a new arms package for Ukraine as early as next week.
