Urgent.. The Union of Arab Journalists thanks President Sisi for his support and allocating a new headquarters in Cairo
The Union of Arab Journalists expressed its great gratitude and thanks to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Egyptian government for the great and continuous support that they continue to provide to the Union, and the latest form of this support was the allocation of a new headquarters for the Union in Cairo befitting the General Union of Arab Journalists, and for their continued keenness to organize the sixtieth anniversary celebration. To establish the union, which will soon be organized in Cairo.
This came during the meeting of the permanent office of the General Union of Arab Journalists, and its regular periodic meeting today. Tuesday in Dubai, the Emirates, headed by Muayyad Al-Lami, President of the Federation, and in the presence of the Federation’s honorary president, Diaa Rashwan, and members of the General Secretariat and the Permanent Office. The Chairman of the Freedoms Committee, Abdul Wahab Al-Zaghailat, and the Federation’s Advisor, Al-Hashimi Nawira, also participated in the meeting. The meeting touched on organizational and political issues, according to the Federation’s statement.
The statement added that members of the General Secretariat and the permanent office of the Union took advantage of the opportunity of the meeting, which came at the invitation of the Emirates Journalists Association, to express Their great appreciation and gratitude to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, for the care and attention they received during their stay in Dubai. They also expressed their sincere thanks and gratitude to colleagues. The Union – in its statement – expressed its condemnation of the Israeli aggression. Diplomacy and media on the part of Western powers, in particular, revealed their true will to subjugate international laws, international legitimacy, and human rights to serve their strategic and economic interests. In return, the members of the Permanent Bureau expressed their pride in their fellow Palestinian journalists, male and female, and pay homage to the souls of the heroic martyrs, including those who paid a heavy price in order to expose the brutal aggression and who watered the pure land of Palestine with their blood, and their colleagues. The Union denounces the Israeli aggression that It caused more than 40 percent of the Palestinian journalists in Gaza to be martyred or injured, which is the most heinous crime in the history of international journalism. alongside their colleagues in Palestine and Lebanon, and supporting the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate in confronting the barbaric aggression, and directing it to file complaints with the International Criminal Court against the criminals of the barbaric aggression against Palestinian journalists. The Union holds international professional organizations and international human rights and legal organizations responsible for the failure to protect Palestinian and Lebanese journalists and in confronting the crimes committed against the Palestinian people, and calls for their immediate cessation without conditions or restrictions. The Permanent Bureau of the General Union of Arab Journalists also calls on all Arab journalistic professional organizations and Arab journalists to affirm the Union’s firm position in boycotting professional normalization with the Israeli enemy.
In the context of the meeting, the members of the Permanent Bureau of the Union unanimously agreed to approve the Centre’s request. The Qatari journalist joined the Union to become a full member of the Union in accordance with the basic law.
Members of the Permanent Bureau also approved the two administrative reports submitted by colleague Khaled Miri, Secretary-General of the Union, and the financial report submitted by the colleague.
