Today, Sunday, a delegation from the Nile International Schools visited the headquarters of the Ministry of Labor, in the presence of leaders from the General Union of Egyptians Abroad. Under the guidance of the Minister of Labor, Mohamed Gibran, the delegation was received by Counselor Ihab Abdel-Aty, the legal advisor to the Ministry, and Shaima Mahmoud, head of the Central Administration for Public Affairs. The Minister’s Office, and Abdel Wahab Khadr, the official spokesman for the Ministry, who answered the questions raised by the delegation of Nile International Schools students, which were summarized in: Inquiries about the efforts of the state and the Ministry of Labor to confront unemployment and prepare for the jobs of the future, the challenges facing the labor market, and the impact of the technological revolution and artificial intelligence on jobs.
During the dialogue, Counselor Ihab Abdel-Ati reviewed the minister’s directives. During this period, Mr. Muhammad Gibran worked to develop the vocational training system and develop youth skills, cooperate with the private sector to provide decent job opportunities for youth, and follow all policies that would link the educational and training process to the needs of the labor market. And new work patterns, anticipating the jobs of the future, dealing with them, and bridging the gap between the required skills and the needs of the “market”.
Abdel-Aty stressed the presidential initiatives that contributed to human development, To qualify him for the labor market and provide him with a decent life, as well as the giant national projects that characterize the “New Republic.” Under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which succeeded in reducing the unemployment rate from 13% in 2014, to less than 7% now.
Abdel-Ati explained the efforts made by the state in general. Work to eliminate unemployment, confront illegal immigration, and issue legislation that stimulates investment and encourages young people to work in the private sector.
Counsel Ihab Abdel-Ati called on the students participating in this meeting to present their proposals, visions, and research on the phenomenon of unemployment around the world, and their vision for confronting it.
