President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated During the meeting, President Sisi was briefed on the efforts made to implement Egypt’s digital strategy aimed at developing the outsourcing industry, which aims to encourage international companies to expand their activities in Egypt.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesman, indicated President Sisi’s keenness during the meeting to pursue efforts to improve coverage services and the quality of communications and the Internet, in a way that contributes to meeting the needs of citizens to obtain high-quality services and greater effectiveness. In this context, the President directed to continue efforts to spread communications services throughout the Republic, ensure that communications services reach citizens with high quality, and take all necessary measures to encourage local and international investment in the fields of communications. and information technology, and intensifying efforts to improve Egypt’s position in global indicators for the communications sector, thus consolidating Egypt’s position as a regional center for communications, activities, digital services, and information technology.
The position on launching the second version of the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence
The official spokesman added that the President also reviewed during the meeting the position on launching the second version of the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence Artificial Intelligence, which is scheduled to be launched soon, through which work will continue to employ artificial intelligence techniques to find innovative solutions to the challenges facing society in various fields, and continue to provide advanced computing infrastructure for government and private agencies and emerging, small and medium-sized companies working in this field. sector, in order to support national economic development programs and their objectives.
The official spokesman stated that the meeting also covered a review of aspects of cooperation between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and other ministries, as well as the projects undertaken by the Ministry of Communications in the field of digital transformation, and a strategy for developing National post offices, as well as national efforts to expand mobile phone manufacturing and localize its industry, explaining Mr. President has directed to continue working towards the transformation into an integrated digital society, which includes providing digital services and data governance, expanding training and building digital capabilities through the expansion of applied technology schools and Digital Egypt Creativity Centers, and qualifying young people to obtain job opportunities. His Excellency also stressed the need to support the programs implemented within the framework of the state’s efforts in the fields of data protection, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, stressing the importance of working to attract more specialized international centers to work in Egypt in the fields of research and development, and in the more complex specializations in the communications and information technology sector.
