The official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, explained that the initial count of injuries and deaths resulting from the accident indicates the death of 8 citizens of the property, and the injury of 3 others, who were transferred to Al-Demerdash Hospital, while Ambulances are still stationed at the accident site until the completion of the work of removing the rubble and searching for any injured or bodies, and follow-up is underway. The operations room of the General Administration of Civil Protection had received a report of the collapse of Property No. 79 behind the College of Engineering in the Al-Waili neighborhood, so men from the General Administration of Civil Protection were immediately dispatched to remove the rubble and search for its residents.
In this context, the Governor of Cairo, Dr. Ibrahim Saber, formed an engineering committee to examine the collapsed property, and to precautionally evacuate the properties adjacent to it from residents, excluding movables, to indicate the extent of their impact from the collapse.
