Urgent.. Foreign Minister: Egypt will continue to support the Palestinian people until their state is established with East Jerusalem as its capital
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, confirmed that Egypt will continue to support the brotherly Palestinian people until the establishment of a Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, stressing Egypt’s full support for empowering the Palestinian Authority.
This came during the Foreign Minister’s meeting today, Sunday, with Dr. Muhammad Mustafa, the Palestinian Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the sidelines of his participation in the preparatory ministerial meeting for the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit scheduled to be held. The official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, stated that Minister Abdel-Ati reviewed the continuing Egyptian efforts to reach an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and the full and unconditional entry of humanitarian aid into the Strip, expressing His complete condemnation of the continued Israeli aggression and all Israeli measures aimed at banning the work of UNRWA.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of taking action in international organizations to provide the necessary support for the agency and protect it, Emphasizing Egypt’s position rejecting any Israeli attempts to displace Palestinians for the purpose of liquidating the Palestinian cause.
Minister Abdel-Aty also reviewed the efforts undertaken by the Egyptian state to support the Palestinian cause; Based on its historical responsibility and national role in supporting the Palestinian people to achieve their right to independence, in addition to the humanitarian role it assumed responsibility for in providing relief to the residents of the Gaza Strip, where Egypt provided more than 70% of the aid that entered the Strip, pointing to Egypt’s reception and provision of health care to thousands of wounded Palestinians, in addition to vaccinating thousands of children, and providing the necessary support to enroll thousands of Palestinian students in education, both through the Ministry of Education and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.
From For his part, the Palestinian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister was keen to express his appreciation for the efforts made by Egypt at various levels to support Palestinian rights, praising the role of the President of the Republic and his efforts aimed at ending the suffering of the Palestinian people and restoring their rights, most importantly the right to self-determination.
