Urgent..Egypt provides relief aid to Lebanon and announces the return of a number of Egyptians wishing to return from Lebanon

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today, Saturday, that in implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic to provide all aspects of support to Lebanon and its brotherly people in order to confront the effects of the Israeli aggression, and to resume the Egyptian air bridge that Egypt had launched in August 2021, as an embodiment of the solidarity of the Egyptian government and people with brotherly Lebanon in the face of… During crises, an urgent medical and relief aid shipment arrived at Beirut airport this Saturday evening.

The aid shipment includes 22 tons of medicines, medical supplies, and relief and subsistence supplies.

 

 

 

 

 

The aid was received by the Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon, and from the Lebanese government, Dr. the Minister of Health, and Dr. Environment and coordinator of the National Emergency Committee in Lebanon and the Minister of Economy and Trade.

On the other hand, the Egyptian embassy in Beirut returned 286 Egyptians stranded in Lebanon and their families, with God’s safety, to the homeland on an exceptional flight by EgyptAir after the aggression caused Israel halted most commercial airlines. 

 

 

 

 

It should be noted that Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, had previously directed The escalation of events in Lebanon led to the formation of a crisis cell in the ministry. He also assigned the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs and the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Consular Affairs and Egyptians Abroad to follow up on them, as well as forming a crisis cell in the Egyptian Embassy in Beirut, where the two cells work around the clock to receive requests and inquiries. Egyptians wishing to return to the homeland and help them reconcile their situation and then return on the exceptional flights that the Egyptian government decided to operate between Beirut and Cairo.
