Union Party: We value the positive interaction between the House of Representatives and professional unions in drafting legislation
The Union Party, headed by Counselor Reda Saqr, appreciated the response of the House of Representatives, headed by Counselor Hanafi Jabali, to the demands of the Doctors Syndicate, to delete the pretrial detention mentioned in Article 29 of the draft law regulating medical liability and patient safety with regard to crimes that occur during the provision of medical services.
The party stated, in a statement, that this is the important achievement reached by the Health Committee of the House of Representatives regarding the draft medical liability law in its current form, and what the discussions will result from. Among the amendments that take into account the interests of all parties, it expresses the positive interaction between the Council and the professional unions, and also confirms the legislative authority’s keenness to place all objective demands under appreciation and study, which supports the medical staff in presenting their lofty mission to the fullest.
 
The Union Party valued the ongoing discussions regarding the draft medical liability law, stressing the need to reach a final formula that achieves consensus and balance between the interest and protection of the patient on the one hand, and ensuring that the medical team performs its mission in a climate and environment. Safe.
He explained that the House of Representatives’ move and changing the course of discussions on the draft medical liability law represents a message of reassurance to Egypt’s doctors, for whom we have every appreciation, as Egypt maintains its leadership in the medical sector at the level of The region and the Middle East.
The party concluded a statement by highlighting the role of the advisor, Dr. Speaker of the House of Representatives, who was keen to chair a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Health, and the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs. And the head of the Council’s Health Committee, to stress the necessity of studying the demands of the Medical Syndicate, one of the results of which was reaching the state of consensus that the draft law is currently witnessing, expressing his confidence in the issuance of legislation that regulates medical responsibility and patient safety in a way that preserves the rights of all parties.
