Ukraine-Russia latest: Marco Rubio warns ‘no military solution’ to war and Zelensky arrives for Saudi peace talks
President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine’s position in Tuesday’s talks in Saudi Arabia with US officials will be “fully constructive”.
“We hope for practical outcomes,” Zelensky said in a post on X.
Zelensky, who visited Saudi Arabia on the eve of the negotiations for talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, said that a “significant” part of his talks was dedicated to the issue of security guarantees for Ukraine
Both Zelensky and US secretary of state Marco Rubio have arrived in Saudi Arabia in preparation for crunch peace talks on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters aboard his plane, Mr Rubio said Ukraine would likely have to cede some territory to Russia to end the war.
“The most important thing that we have to leave here with is a strong sense that Ukraine is prepared to do difficult things, like the Russians are going to have to do difficult things to end this conflict or at least pause it in some way, shape or form,” the secretary said.
