Joint exercises Vigilant Fox were organized with the participation of the British, American and Finnish army in western Finland on the eve of the country’s possible accession to NATO.
According to the department, the army worked to coordinate the interaction between the air and ground forces.
“Vigilant Fox demonstrated the strength and compatibility of our armed forces with allies from the United States and Finland and reaffirmed our commitment to defense and security in the Baltic region,” said Deputy Defense Secretary James Hebe.
Earlier, it was reported that the United States and NATO will hold exercises in Canada on radiation, chemical and biological protection. In addition to the US and Canadian military, troops from Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Slovakia and the United Kingdom will participate in the exercises.
The Pentagon believes that the exercises will help soldiers “test their abilities in harsh conditions.” In particular, techniques will be developed for sampling materials, conducting their analysis and identifying potential hazards.
