UK decides to stop issuing investor visas

The UK has decided to stop issuing investor visas, the so-called “golden visas”.

British Home Secretary Priti Patel said she would cancel the visas due to the fact that they could be used for money laundering. Government officials confirmed these plans.

Foreigners can obtain an investor visa who are willing to invest at least two million pounds sterling in the UK economy. To combat “dirty money”, applicants for this visa were required to explain the origin of the capital at the request of the police.
