UFC star Alex Pereira hits back at his ex in bitter war of words – and Conor McGregor joins in with a shocking insult

Alex Pereira has been targeted by his ex-girlfriend after losing his light heavyweight title to Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313 over the weekend – but Conor McGregor is standing by his side.
‘Poatan’ Pereira was dethroned by Ankalaev on Sunday, with the Russian outpointing him over five rounds to become the 18th division belt holder.
And if losing his strap wasn’t bad enough, Pereira’s ex-girlfriend, Merle Christine, took to social media to celebrate his defeat.
‘We have a new light heavyweight champion… no more Chama, karma,’ she said in a video posted to Instagram.
‘He lost on International Women’s Day. Maybe that’s a sign, guys? I don’t know.’
‘New light heavyweight champion Ankalaev, congrats. He did a really good job. If you guys are talking robbery, you don’t understand anything from MMA. So let’s not talk about robbery. That’s completely BS.

‘This guy won and actually, he got this title shot very very late, right? So I think we should give him some props, even if we don’t like him or don’t like his fighting style. We should give him some props.’
The couple were together for two years before breaking up when Pereira claims he discovered Christine was already married.
It didn’t take long for Pereira to fire back at her after his defeat.
‘I think she should stop mentioning my name because her husband might get jealous, chama,’ Pereira commented on the viral video.
Several fighters have voiced their support for Pereira, including UFC icon Conor McGregor who posted to X: ‘Fugly b***h was you box’.
Pereira is likely going to have the chance to rectify his title loss after UFC boss Dana White said a rematch is ‘probably’ next.
Ankalaev said he’s prepared to give the Brazilian another shot right away.
‘I never pick my opponents, so I’m very much happy and ready for a rematch,’ Ankalaev said.
