Turkey, Qatar establish joint fighter squadron to boost military ties

The joint Turkey-Qatar squadron, which was established at Qatar’s Dukhan Air Base, about five years after Ankara opened its military base in Qatar in 2019, is believed to be a sign of strengthening military ties between the two countries.

Arab Defense Website September 3, 2024: It was reported Reports Turkey and Qatar have established the first joint squadron comprising fighter jets from the air forces of both countries, according to a statement from the Qatari Ministry of Defense.

The joint Turkish-Qatari squadron is believed to be based at Dukhan Air Base in Qatar, about five years after Ankara opened its military base in the Gulf Arab state.
