Trump demands firing of TWO MSNBC stars for ‘disgraceful’ on-air comments

Donald Trump has dramatically declared that Nicolle Wallace and Rachel Maddow and should be forced to resign for their comments about a teenage cancer survivor.

The Republican made the statement Thursday from the Oval Office, two days after Wallace and Maddow’s remarks about 13-year-old Devarjaye DJ Daniel.

Trump had honored Daniel hours before, by making him an honorary member of the Secret Service. The boy – whose dream is to be a police office – was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2018. He has since defied the odds and survived.

It was a sweet moment that should have unified politicians and pundits, no matter their beliefs – but the pair proceeded to politicize the occasion, framing it as a form of propaganda from the president.

There have been growing calls for the pundits’ firing since, with figures like Meghan McCain and Karoline Leavitt joining that chorus of voices.

That led Trump to finally weigh in, as he fielded questions from White House reporters.

‘Worse channel CNN is MSDNC,’ he said, using his nickname for the Comcast-owned cable network. ‘[It] is the worst.’

After taking a shot at the network’s flailing ratings, he turned to Wallace – who publicly pondered whether Daniel would kill himself like members of law enforcement did after January 6  on Tuesday – and then Maddow.

Donald Trump dramatically declared on Thursday that Nicolle Wallace and Rachel Maddow and should be forced to resign for their comments about a teenage cancer survivor

'I hope he has a long life as a law enforcement officer - but I hope he never has to defend the United States capitol against Donald Trump 's supporters,' Nicolle Wallace said of cancer-stricken Devarjaye 'DJ' Daniel two days ago, before taking it a step further

‘Frankly, what Nicolle Wallace said – I’ve never been a fan of hers, and she’s not very talented – but I’ll tell you, what she said the other day about that young man, is disgraceful. She should be forced to resign.

‘And Rachel Maddow should be forced to resign – nobody watches her anyway,’ he added, after the host branded him ‘disgusting’ for shining a light on Daniel’s more than six-year battle.

‘The good news is that no one watches them anymore – they have lost such credibility,’ he said, before taking another shot at Maddow, who rakes in a reported $5million a year.

‘It’s not possible they pay her as much money as I hear,’ Trump said. ‘But certainly, she has lost all credibility.

‘Both of them,’ he continued.

‘What they said the other day, both of them… about that young person.

‘They should be forced to resign.’

Daniel, meanwhile, was held up by his father during the ceremony Tuesday -where he received his badge from Director Sean Curran and Republicans in the House gallery chanted ‘DJ.’

‘He has always dreamed of becoming a police officer,’ Trump said. ‘But in 2018, DJ was diagnosed with brain cancer.’

‘The doctors gave him five months at most to live. That was more than six years ago. Since that time, DJ and his dad have been on a quest to make his dream come true.’

‘And tonight, DJ, we’re going to do you the biggest honor of them all.’

Democrats then went silent as Trump discussed his health policies.’

Hours later,  Wallace and Maddow would weigh in – and instead of relishing the moment, the former went negative on the gesture.

Speaking with Maddow and Jen Psaki, she bizarrely brought suicide into the discussion.

‘I hope he’s alive for another 95 years, and I hope he lives the life he wants to live,’ the former View host said of Daniel.

‘He wants to be a cop, he knows what he wants to do and maybe when you have childhood cancer that crystallizes,’ she went on, before bringing up the events of January 6, 2021.

‘I hope he has a long life as a law enforcement officer – but I hope he never has to defend the United States capitol against Donald Trump’s supporters,’ she claimed, then taking it a step further.

White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, 27, blasted MSNBC's Wallace for her comments on Thursday, after a storm of criticism surfaced on platforms like X

‘And if he does, I hope he isn’t one of the six who loses his life to suicide,’ she declared – eliciting a storm of replies on platforms like X.

Maddow also got in on the action – branding Trump ‘disgusting’ for shining a light on DJ’s more than six-year battle.

‘For the record and this is disgusting, the president made a spectacle out of praising a young man who thus far has survived pediatric cancer, as if the president had something to do with that,’ she said during the segment.

‘This was in the midst of him praising DOGE. DOGE cuts, among other things, have cut off funding for ongoing research into pediatric cancer.’

DJ, meanwhile, had undergone 13 surgeries by the time he was 12 as he battles a rare brain and spine cancer with no cure.

He is trying to get sworn in to as many law enforcement agencies as possible as he and his family try to raise awareness about his condition.

The ceremony came during Trump first’ speech to Congress – hence the pronounced response from the progressive pundits.

During his time on the floor, the president declared that driving down childhood cancer rates and studying autism cases in the US would be a top priority for his health secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr, as childhood cancer remains rare in the US.

Roughly 15,000 children are diagnosed with the disease every year, out of roughly 2million overall.

Cases of pediatric cancer have risen in recent years, but treatments have improved, leading to a decline in deaths from the disease.

‘Our goal is to get toxins out of our environment, poisons out of our food supply and keep our children healthy and strong,’ he said during his speech.

DailyMail.com has reached out to MSNBC for comment. As of writing, neither anchor has apologized.
