Tragedy as young Aussie girl drowns on holiday in Bali – as her devastated family issues a warning every parent should read

A toddler who drowned at her family’s holiday accommodation in Bali has been remembered as the ‘kindest person’ who was taken far too soon.

Three-year-old Janaa Al Easawi from Sydney, was found unresponsive in the pool at her parent’s Seminyak villa near Kuta on Thursday afternoon.

Her father was the first to spot her and immediately rushed outside to perform CPR, with the help of a nearby Australian woman who was also on holiday in Bali, after pulling her out of the water.

The family had mistakenly thought the gate to the pool had been locked prior to the incident.

Janaa was just about to celebrate her fourth birthday and was preparing to start school. Tragically, she could not be revived.

The family-of-three had been holidaying in Bali from their Campbelltown home over the summer.

Local police are now at the villa.

A North Kuta Police Investigator told Daily Mail Australia at the scene that an ‘investigation is underway’.

Three-year-old Janaa Al Easawi from Campbelltown in Sydney, tragically drowned while holidaying with her family in Bali on Thursday

Her distraught parents shared a statement following the tragedy.

They said despite the loss they were grateful for the time they had with Janaa.

‘Her memory will live on forever in the countless moments she gifted us,’ they told 7News.

‘Janaa’s smile had the power to light up every room, and her love for her parents, family, friends, and her cherished parrot (Coco) was boundless.

‘Our precious Janaa, you will be forever loved and remain in our hearts, always.’

Other heartbroken relatives also shared tributes remembering the youngster as ‘beautiful’.

The family are now preparing to fly back to Sydney with the body where they will organise a funeral.

Her parents said they want Janaa’s life to be celebrated but also hope the tragic story will serve as a warning to others.

Her parents hope their pain will make others think twice about booking accommodation with backyard pools.

A spokesperson for the family said children should always be closely supervised around water, even if it appears a facility has safety measures.

Janaa’s parents also advised all parents to teach their children how to swim from an early age in order to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

Janaa had recently started swimming lessons herself.
