After Ouest-France, it is the turn of the Sud Ouest group to slam the doors of the social network X (formerly Twitter). The third regional press group detailed on its site the reason for its departure from Elon Musk’s platform: “all the publishers of the Sud-Ouest Group have taken the decision to suspend their presence on the X platform (formerly Twitter) until serious guarantees against disinformation and in favor of the balance of debates have been provided ,” indicated the press group in a press release.
This departure follows that of other major European media groups: Ouest-France in France, The Guardian in the United Kingdom, La Vanguardia in Spain and Dagens Nyheter in Sweden. The owner of the platform, Elon Musk, responded to these departures by addressing his 200 million subscribers: “The media is you now,” indicates the billionaire.
