Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, held a meeting yesterday evening with Engineer Karim Badawy, Minister of Petroleum. and Mineral Resources, to review and follow up a number of work files.
During the meeting, the Minister presented a number of topics that included the results of efforts to attract the private sector to expand its investments in the field of petroleum, as well as the position of incentives offered with the aim of increasing production of various petroleum products, in addition to reviewing the position of the availability of petroleum products in the country. Local markets, in the context of ensuring the availability of strategic funds to meet the needs of citizens, as well as meet the needs of the electricity sector.
During the meeting, Engineer Karim Badawi pointed to the important results of his Cypriot counterpart’s visit to Egypt, which witnessed field trips to a number of Natural gas production sites in Egypt, within the framework of the two countries’ keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation in this field in light of the promising potentials and opportunities.
The Minister also touched on the fruitful results of the Mediterranean Basin Countries Conference (MOC 2024) in Alexandria, which included He held many meetings with international officials on the sidelines of the conference, which highlighted many areas of cooperation between Mediterranean countries in the energy sector and sustainable development, in addition to signing memorandums of understanding and cooperation agreements between the petroleum sector in Egypt. and international companies, to enhance cooperation in areas including process safety, energy efficiency, natural gas and hydrogen transportation, sustainable energy and leadership training.
