Tomorrow.. the launch of the activities of the first international symposium of Dar Al-Ifta under the title: "Fatwa and achieving intellectual security"
The activities of the first international symposium organized by the Egyptian Fatwa House will begin tomorrow under the title: “Fatwa and Achieving Intellectual Security,” under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, on the occasion of the International Fatwa Day, which is celebrated annually on the fifteenth of December. The symposium will be held in the conference hall of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif over two days, with the participation of senior scholars and muftis from various countries of the world, in addition to an elite group of professors and scholars from Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.
The symposium aims to highlight the pivotal role of the fatwa in enhancing intellectual security and confronting intellectual challenges. current, in order to achieve societal stability and sustainable development. The symposium will witness many prominent events, including discussion workshops and two scientific sessions with the aim of addressing the most prominent contemporary intellectual issues.
Topping the agenda of events is also a workshop entitled: “Confronting random fatwas: towards activating the role of fatwa institutions in confronting… “Contemporary Chaos”, which will discuss mechanisms for confronting uncontrolled fatwas and their negative effects on the stability of societies. Another workshop will address the methodology of rational response to thorny questions, with a focus on the issue of atheism as a model for current intellectual challenges.
The international symposium will also witness the launch of the Imam Al-Layth bin Saad Center for Fatwas on Coexistence, which is a qualitative initiative to promote the values of peaceful coexistence. On the sidelines of the symposium, a documentary film will be shown documenting the efforts of fatwa institutions in spreading moderate thought and confronting extremism, in celebration of International Fatwa Day.
