Tommy DeVito hands New York Giants injury scare before Thanksgiving game vs Dallas Cowboys

New York Giants quarterback Tomme DeVito could miss Thursday’s Thanksgiving showdown against Dallas Cowboys with a forearm injury.

DeVito took some hard hits in his first game of the season on Sunday – the emphatic 30-7 loss against Tampa Bay Buccaneers at MetLife Stadium.

With a shorter week in store, Giants head coach Brian Daboll said DeVito is ‘not 100 percent’ set to play against the Cowboys because of the arm issue.

DeVito himself spoke to reporters on Tuesday and said: ‘Sore, whole body is kind of sore.

‘First time playing in a while and I took a couple shots. It’s only not even 48 hours so things are kind of settling down.

‘The plan is to play, yeah (against the Cowboys). See how I feel tomorrow, hopefully I wake up tomorrow feeling a little bit better after getting some treatment today.’

Daboll, meanwhile, said: ‘If we were practicing today, he would be limited. His forearm is sore and we will see where we are at.

‘He threw in the walkthrough, he is going to test it in practice so I am hopeful but it is not 100 percent.’

DeVito is the starting quarterback for the Giants after they cut Daniel Jones last week in what has been a disastrous season for the franchise so far.

The loss to the Bucs leaves them 2-9 and last in the NFC East, two wins behind the Cowboys.

If DeVito does not recover in time, Drew Lock will take his place on the field at the AT&T Stadium against the Cowboys, who themselves are without their starting quarterback Dak Prescott.
