Tom Brady is still getting his feet wet as an NFL broadcaster, and he drew plenty of blowback on Sunday for his unremarkable analysis of Lamar Jackson at one point.
The Ravens quarterback scampered into the end zone for a nine-yard touchdown vs. the Cowboys in the first quarter, and Brady offered a pretty banal assessment of the play.
‘How fast is Lamar? Fast,’ he said.
And fans were not impressed with that breakdown.
‘Tom Brady stating the obvious like he’s uncovering some groundbreaking discovery,’ one said on X.

‘Awful commentary,’ added another.
‘In other news water is wet,’ a third added.
A different fan referenced Brady’s lucrative 10-year, $375million deal with Fox.
‘Give this guy another $40M,’ they said.
Brady’s debut as a Fox Sports commentator in Week 1 was a bit bumpy.
As he called the Cowboys’ win over the Browns, he was roasted by some fans early on as there was one awkward turn of phrase where he said, ‘it’s hard to make 10, but really hard to make 20 yards’.
He acknowledged before Week 2 that there were ‘some things to clean up.’
However, he drew improved reviews in his second game as he stepped back into the booth for Cowboys-Saints.
Brady made his in-game debut for Fox Sports earlier this month alongside Kevin Burkhardt
‘Tom Brady is already wayyy more comfortable and natural in the booth this week than he was in week 1,’ wrote one user on X.
‘Best moment of Tom Brady’s young broadcasting career just happened,’ read another post. ‘After Cowboys rookie WR slips, leading to INT, Burkhardt asks if Prescott should go back to the rookie WR to get confidence going. Brady: “Not today.”‘
‘I regret to inform you that Tom Brady is offering good, non-cliched insight in doses today,’ read another tweet in Week 2. ‘He sounds comfortable and confident and like he may even be enjoying himself. Who knew: the homicidally competitive guy may wind up being good at this.’
Brady is set to be in Tampa Bay in Week 4 for his former team’s clash with the Eagles.
