Tom Brady hit by major snub as fallout continues from tough start as Fox’s $375m NFL analyst

Tom Brady was on the receiving end of as major snub from the Emmys, with him not being nominated in the ‘Outstanding Personality/Event Analyst’ category, while watching a colleague get the nod.

Brady replaced Greg Olsen as Fox Sports’ top color commentator for the 2024 season, but it was the former Carolina Panther who earned a nomination.

Olsen was nominated in the category for the fourth straight year alongside Troy Aikman, Peyton Manning, Bill Raftery, and John Smoltz.

Brady had a rough first season calling the games for Fox, as he was paired with veteran broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt.

Olsen was demoted to the network’s No 2 team despite his trio of Emmy nominations heading into last season.

It was clear what Fox’s plan was for Brady when they signed him to a 10-year, $375million contract to be a color commentator in 2022.

Brady’s involvement in the booth has added intrigue to games beyond what a color commentator brings, as he is the most successful player in NFL history with seven Super Bowls.

Yet, his level of mainstream interest does not correlate to accolades, as three others associated with Fox were recognized, with Raftery’s college basketball coverage and Smoltz’s baseball expertise also being honored.

Brady will enter year No 2 in the fall in the booth, officially his third season removed from being an NFL quarterback.

Brady was on the call for other incredibly important games last season, including the Eagles-Commanders NFC Championship Game.

That will no doubt continue into year No 2, as Olsen continues to plug away not as Fox’s top guy.
