The daughter of Kamala Harris’ running mate Tim Walz has shared her ‘litmus test’ when it comes to chatting with men online – and it concerns a popular podcast.
Hope Walz, 23, who has almost 200,000 followers on TikTok explained how she checks whether potential dates follow Joe Rogan on Instagram – and if they do, it’s an instant ‘red flag’.
‘A litmus test for me and my friends for like years now has been if the guy we’re talking to follows Joe Rogan on Instagram, they’re a red flag and we should probably stop talking to them,’ Walz began.
‘And the times when they do follow him on Instagram and we haven’t stopped talking to them, it’s never ended well,’ she explained.
Rogan, an MMA color commentator who is highly influential among young men, officially endorsed Donald Trump on the eve of the election – a move Trump’s team touted as a major win in the final hours of their campaign last month.
‘I just want to say that I stand by that. It’s literally never failed us and at this point it’s like the first thing we do when someone starts talking to a new person,’ Walz explained in her 90 second video.
‘If they follow him we’re like, yeah this person probably isn’t a great person and probably our values don’t align so we’re gonna move on from that. And honestly it’s worked out well for all of us.’
Walz explained that there had ‘been some heartbreak’ by sticking to the rule but that for the most part it works.

‘There’s been some heartbreak in there because of it or at least some disappointment but it truly is a litmus test and I got you ladies. You should start doing it,’ Walz urged.
‘I very much stand by that. He’s questionable and unprofessional in my opinion,’ she said before directing her message directly at Rogan.
‘I don’t know how you have the largest podcast in the world and are able to just lie and put out misinformation and straight up lies on your platform,’ Walz said.
Many of Walz followers praised her for sharing such advice.
‘That sinking feeling when they mention something they heard on Joe Rogan’s podcast,’ shared one woman in the comments.
‘My favorite is when you express your disapproval and then they try and find an episode to show you and it makes it worse,’ shared another.
‘Asking them how they feel about Taylor Swift also works like a charm (or just mentioning her in general),’ added a third.
But there were also plenty who didn’t agree with with Walz’ suggestions.

Walz was seen at campaign events with her dad across the country as he met with voters.
She also delivered some memorable online social media content of their close relationship from the campaign trail.
