‘They don’t want you to watch this video’: Israel reveals how Hezbollah storing weapons in civilian neighborhoods in Lebanon

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have released a video accusing Hezbollah of storing weapons in civilian neighborhoods in Lebanon. The video, shared on social media platform X, claims Hezbollah has placed its military assets within populated areas for over 20 years.

“Hezbollah has transformed southern Lebanon into a launch pad for attacks against Israel, deliberately placing their military assets within civilian homes,” the IDF stated. According to the IDF, this tactic is used to protect Hezbollah’s operations from Israeli airstrikes by using civilians as human shields.

This video is part of the IDF’s efforts to address criticism about its airstrikes in densely populated areas. “Our defensive operations target Hezbollah’s terror infrastructure. We have launched precision strikes based on extensive intelligence to neutralize threats before they can harm Israeli civilians,” the IDF clarified, emphasizing its focus on protecting Israeli families.

“We aim to ensure that Israeli families can return to their homes without fear,” the IDF concluded. The video aims to justify its military actions and garner public support in what it describes as a necessary defense against ongoing threats.

Meanwhile, Israel has refused to heed calls for a ceasefire with Hezbollah, according to a report by Al Jazeera.Notably, amid the escalating tensions between Israel and Lebanon, the United States has called for a 21 day ceasefire on the Israel-Lebanon border to prevent an escalation of war and give diplomacy a chance there and in Gaza.Voicing their support for this plan are US Secretary of Defence Lloyd J Austin III, British Defence Secretary John Healey, and Australian Defence Minister Richard Marles, who met in London on Thursday at the AUKUS defence ministerial meeting, the Pentagon said in a press release.
