The Undersecretary of the Senate stresses the importance of strengthening efforts to train young people to confront illegal immigration

 Senate Undersecretary, Representative Phoebe Fawzi, stressed the importance of strengthening the planned and purposeful efforts of the Ministry of Labor, to qualify, train, and provide young people with the skills needed by foreign markets, in order to confront the phenomenon of illegal immigration.

Fawzi said – in a speech during the discussion of a number of requests for general discussion submitted by representatives on the phenomenon of illegal immigration and the role of labor representation offices and the labor market – that today we are facing one of the most important challenges facing the Egyptian economy, which is creating job opportunities for young people. She pointed out that any country seeking to achieve an economic boom must first look at the human wealth available to it.

She added that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi confirmed that human wealth is the most precious wealth that Egypt possesses, pointing out that in Egypt With an increase in population that devours many of the development outcomes, improving population characteristics to benefit from this increase and transforming it from a challenge into an opportunity is the most important project that should concern the decision maker.

Fawzi continued that improving education and health levels and raising awareness and living conditions Social work is the basis of the Egyptian human capital development project, which must be reflected in the level of Egyptian labor and contribute to developing its competitiveness in foreign markets. The Undersecretary of the Senate noted that there are many sister countries that need Egyptian workers in all their specializations and levels, and there are also foreign countries that are suffering from a clear population shortage. Therefore, the importance of foreign labor representation offices must be emphasized and the inevitability of them playing a vital role in strengthening the capacity of workers. Egyptian labor should occupy the position it deserves in foreign labor markets.

In this regard, Fawzi called for inspiration from the experiences of some countries with a level of growth and population characteristics similar to ours, such as India, whose citizens’ remittances from abroad now represent a significant proportion of its sources of income. The National.

Fawzi stressed that the issue of irregular migration – despite its extreme seriousness – will not be confronted with security methods alone, but rather the most important and most effective thing is to work on creating alternative job opportunities, whether at home or abroad, so that the desire of young people to be met. Productive work, which is a legitimate desire by all standards, as this is the most important way to limit their willingness, especially in rural communities, to the adventure of illegal immigration, which is often fraught with many risks that may go beyond the loss of money and expenses to the loss of lives that are precious to us all.

Fawzi explained that qualifying, training, and giving young people the skills needed by foreign markets is definitely the safest way to confront the phenomenon of illegal immigration, stressing the need for the Ministry of Labor to strengthen its planned and purposeful efforts, with the combined efforts of several ministries, and executive and legislative institutions, to enhance the Ministry of Labor’s ability to This regard.
