The Supreme Committee for Security and Environmental Inspection inspects Luxor International Airport

In continuation of the ongoing tours of the Supreme Committee for Security and Environmental Inspection at Egyptian airports, and within the framework of the directives of Dr. Sameh El Hafny, Minister of Civil Aviation, on the necessity of following up and evaluating the security, health and environmental situation at airports through joint coordination between the ministries and concerned authorities, the Supreme Committee for Security and Environmental Inspection, formed under the chairmanship of Pilot Montaser Manna, Deputy Minister Civil Aviation conducted an inspection tour of Luxor International Airport, where they were received by Pilot Hisham Farid, Director of the Airport.

The committee’s visits aim to provide all facilities to passengers and tourists at airports, as well as to provide the necessary security and insurance protection methods applicable at international airports. In accordance with the recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

During the tour, the committee inspected the travel and arrival halls, the passport and customs counters, the control tower, and the meteorological building. The readiness of the airport was monitored and the focus was on evaluating the security and health measures applied, as well as reviewing the progress of passenger movement in the travel and arrival halls, in addition to examining the flow of air traffic as well as Insurance operations, where the levels of services provided to passengers within the travel and arrival halls and all service areas at the airport were checked.

The committee also inspected the surrounding fences around the airport and the passenger building in the travel and arrival halls, the rest area, cafeterias, duty-free shops and catering. The work progress was also monitored from the security room information center “surveillance camera system” and the baggage belt area in the international and domestic arrival halls, where the regularity of operation was confirmed. And the smooth flow of passenger movement to ensure that passengers are not delayed during the travel and arrival stages, in addition to monitoring the entry and exit places of passengers from the airport gates. The committee also inspected the locations of the flying balloons. On the western coast of Luxor to follow up on the safety procedures followed, where the operating mechanisms of the flying balloon were observed and its launch was watched at dawn.
