The preliminary exams for the nominated contestants from foreign countries to participate in the 31st International Holy Quran Competition (online) began today.
This comes in light of the interest of the Egyptian Ministry of Endowments in serving the Book of God (Glory be to Him) and taking care of its preservation. And reciting it and intonation, and understanding its purposes, explaining the aspects of its parsing, and knowing the reasons for the revelation.
A number of (24) contestants were tested from the countries: (Mauritania – Yemen – Syria – Lebanon – Chad – Qatar – Ghana – India – Madagascar – France – Kazakhstan – Serbia – Uganda – Benin – Burkina Faso – Nigeria – Britain – Thailand – Guinea Conakry – Germany – Togo…) Preliminary tests are being completed for the rest of the candidates from other countries, respectively.

The first branch: memorizing the Holy Qur’an (narrated by Hafs on the authority of Asim), with its recitation and interpretation, and knowledge of the reasons for revelation for non-imams, preachers, faculty members and their assistants, provided that the age does not exceed the time. Announcement of 35 years.
• First prize: one million pounds.
• Second prize: 600 thousand pounds.
• Third prize: 400 thousand pounds.
Provided that the applicant has not previously won any of the first places with financial prizes in any version of the competition.
Second section: Memorizing the Holy Qur’an (narrated). Hafs on the authority of Asim) and its recitation for non-Arabic speakers, provided that the age at the time of announcement does not exceed 30 years.
• First prize: 600 thousand pounds.
• Second prize: 500 thousand pounds.
• Third prize: 400 thousand pounds.
• Fourth prize: 300 thousand pounds.
• Fifth prize: 200 thousand pounds.
Provided that he has not previously won any of the first places with financial prizes in any edition of the competition.
Third section for youth: memorizing the Qur’an. Al-Karim (narrated by Hafs on the authority of Asim or Warsh on the authority of Nafi’ or both) with an interpretation of the twenty-ninth and thirty-ninth parts in the light of the book Al-Bayan ‘Ali Al-Mukhtab fi Tafsir Al-Qur’an Al-Kareem, provided that the age at the time of the announcement does not exceed 12 years.
• First prize: 600 thousand pounds.
• Second prize: 400 thousand pounds.
• Third prize: 300 thousand pounds.
Provided that he has not previously won any of the first places of financial value in any version of the competition.
Fourth section: Memorizing the Holy Qur’an (with a narration). Hafs on the authority of Asim or Warsh on the authority of Nafi’ or both) with its intonation, interpretation and parsing for imams, preachers, faculty members and their assistants, provided that the age at the time of announcement does not exceed 35 years, and it is required that he has not won first place in any of the competition sessions.
First prize: 600 thousand pounds.
Second prize: 400 thousand pounds.
Fifth section: People of determination memorizing the Holy Qur’an (narrated by Hafs on the authority of Asim or Warsh on the authority of Nafi’ Or both) with an interpretation of Part Thirty in light of the book Al-Bayan Ali Al-Mukhtab in interpreting the Holy Qur’an, provided that the age does not exceed 25 years.
First prize: 600 thousand pounds.
Second prize: 400 thousand pounds.
Third prize: 300 thousand pounds.
Sixth section: The Qur’anic Family Memorizing the Holy Qur’an (narrated by Hafs on the authority of Asim or Warsh on the authority of Nafi’ or both) while understanding its meanings and aspects of its parsing. Provided that the number of members of the family who have mastered memorization is not less than three individuals, and provided that the family has not previously won any of the first four places.
The first family: one million and fifty thousand pounds.
The second family: : Six hundred thousand pounds.
Seventh Branch (innovated in this competition): Branch of translations of the meanings of the Holy Qur’an for faculty members and their assistants, graduates of colleges and departments of foreign languages, and other university graduates, provided that they are proficient in the Arabic and foreign languages, both spoken and written in the language. Translated from it and the language it is translated into, through the contestant’s proficiency in understanding the meanings of the Holy Qur’an in the Arabic and foreign languages of his choice, along with passing the prescribed tests in writing and orally with merit and competence, in light of the translations of the selected book issued by the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, provided that the age does not exceed 35 years for faculty members. And their assistants, and the age must not exceed 50 years for others, with proficiency in recitation only.
