Today, Dr. Amr Dowidar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Sohag, chaired the meeting of the interview committee for supervisory and leadership positions, at the headquarters of the General Office of the Health Directorate in the governorate. The meeting included a number of general directors and directors of the relevant departments with the aim of conducting interviews with applicants for a number of leadership and supervisory positions in the directorate.
Dowidar confirmed in his statements that the committee discussed the applicants about their proposals to develop work within the health sector, as well as their future visions for improving the level of health service in the governorate. Emphasis was also placed on evaluating the applicants’ career history, and the extent to which they meet the job requirements in terms of academic and practical abilities, and the certificates they hold. He explained that the selection process will take place based on the votes of all members of the committee, as each member will evaluate the applicants separately.
Dowidar pointed out that the next stage requires the presence of leaders with leadership qualities capable of making effective strategic decisions that contribute to improving the level of health services and advancing the health system in Sohag. He stressed the importance of hard and continuous work to direct all available energies and capabilities in order to improve and develop the health service provided. For citizens throughout the governorate.
The Undersecretary also confirmed that the Sohag Health Directorate has recently made a number of changes at the leadership level with the aim of injecting new blood capable of bringing about radical changes in the health sector, which is in line with the plans drawn up to meet the needs of the next stage. He explained that these changes are part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at improving health service in various hospitals and health centers in the governorate.
It is worth noting that the Sohag Health Directorate has achieved many tangible successes recently, as therapeutic services have been expanded in hospitals and health centers. The most prominent of these successes is the operation of the cardiac catheterization unit at Tahta General Hospital, which is an important addition to providing advanced medical services to patients. The distinguished Shatoura Center for therapeutic services was also operated, which contributes to improving the level of health care in the region. In addition, the intensive care department was operated at Juhayna Central Hospital, and dialysis beds, incubators, and intermediate care were increased at Pardis Hospital.
The Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Unit at Sohag General Hospital has also been activated, which provides specialized medical services to MS patients. The Directorate also stressed the intensification of its efforts to end waiting lists within the framework of the presidential initiative to eliminate waiting lists in various medical specialties.
In a related context, the Health Directorate confirmed that all these efforts come within the framework of an integrated plan to improve the quality of health service and ensure the provision of distinguished health care to all citizens in the governorate.
