For some, an endless rotation of memories and moods, for others the same scent worn day in day out. These are the fragrances the RUSSH editors hold close and the signature scents we can’t do without.

I’ve been loving Armani Beauty’s MY WAY EDP and always get compliments from family and friends when I wear it. It’s floral in the best way, and makes me feel elegant and beautiful. I also love that it’s refillable.
I would say the fragrance that I have loved for the longest time would be Maison Margiela’s Lazy Sunday Morning. It’s soft, fresh and features pear. I feel calm and warm when I wear it.
For a woody scent that is earthy but still soft, I reach for my Aesop Hwyl Eu de Parfum. I feel like this is Bella Swan coded, that’s what I tell myself anyway.

If I had to choose a single scent to wear for the rest of my life it would be – and has been for years – Diptyque’s Do Son. It’s subtle but never not there, and by far the most complimented scent I’ve ever worn. I’m also recently a massive convert to the CHANEL SYCOMORE from their Les Exclusifs range – my favourite perfumer recently described it as “possibly the most perfect vetiver ever created” and I couldn’t agree more. It’s earthy, grounding and unisex – great for anyone wanting to smell like a forest or an Aesop store. I’ve also recently found myself gravitating toward TSU LANGE YOR’s newest scent By Your Side, which I immediately clocked as a sophisticated sister of Glossier’s ubiquitous You – pink peppercorns and cedar being its top notes.

I have a roster of fragrances sitting atop my dressing table, depending on my mood for the day. For a casual day when I’m feeling chill and nonchalant, I’ll do the Glossier You fragrance because it settles really nicely. For a day I’m feeling stylish and chic and delusional because I’m never those things, I really love the Maison Louis Marie Icila fragrance. I have it in a cute little roll on and slip it in my bag for any reapplication needs. I just went to Japan with my partner and purchased the Maison Margiela Replica ‘on a date’ fragrance that has now joined my rotation whenever I want to be transported back to my trip. And lastly, for any special occasions or evenings out, I can’t go out without wearing my favourite Armani Beauty Si fragrance.

I have a vast collection of fragrances — it’s the one area of my life where I am not a minimalist. But I can definitely call out my favourites or signatures. I love warmth, woods and musk, specifically Frederic Malle Musc Ravageur, Hermes J’our d’Hermès and Celine Cologne Celeste. And for compliments, Frederic Malle Music For a While.

Whenever I wear Le Labo’s Noir 29, I can pretty much guarantee someone will ask me what scent I’m wearing. It’s actually how I discovered the fragrance myself, on a mutual passerby at a house party several years ago, and it’s been my signature ever since. For something a little fresher, but not overly sweet, I always come back to Byredo’s Super Cedar. It’s the perfect gender neutral scent. And I can’t leave off my trustee Glossier You – I come back to it, again and again.

When I say I’ve been wearing the same Nina Ricci fragrance since I was 16 I’m not even slightly exaggerating. The TikTok algorithm has, however, been working its magic lately and I’ve finally started perfuming (yes, I’m making it a word) to my mood.
So far I’ve found two which I’ve thrown into the mix. The first is Who is Elijah Morning After which I’ve made my night time scent. The woody, leather vibes make me feel sophisticated and mysterious compared to my usual more floral vibe.
The second is Fame by Paco Rabanne. This was sprayed in the RUSSH office a few weeks ago and it brought me right back to the Britney Spears Fantasy epidemic of 2005, but in a good way. Floral but with more of a citrus undertone, it’s my current daytime crush. Plus the bottle makes me laugh everytime I look at it which is always a win.

Can you have but one signature scent? I feel that you can have a signature for every occasion, and every season. Mine are all varied, however their unifying factor is there’s always nostalgia and a good dashing of leather. Penhaligons is heavy on the nostalgia for me, it was the smell of my father getting ready for a dinner party, so I now wear Halfeti Leather myself when I want to host. They have recently released Fortuitous Finley, which may be my latest favourite. With leather and a generous dose of pistachio it is somehow evocative of a summer hack or a pistachio cannoli on holiday. Byredo’s Biblioteque does take me back to being a fresh graduate and is definitely a fragrance for all hours, and I find I am always running out of Frederic Malle’s A Portrait of a Lady.
