The Prime Minister witnesses the conclusion of the World Conference on Population, Health and Human Development 2024

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, witnessed this evening the activities of the closing session of the second edition of the World Conference on Population, Health and Human Development 2024, which was held in the New Administrative Capital, under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, under the slogan “Human Development.” For a sustainable future, in the presence of a number of ministers, officials and representatives of relevant authorities.

During the closing session activities, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development, Minister of Health and Population, thanked President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, For his generous sponsorship and honor of the conference at the opening, he also thanked the Prime Minister for his continuous support during the steps of preparing for this conference, providing all capabilities, and his attendance at the closing session, in a way that enhances the government’s priority on the human development file.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said that the conference witnessed, over the course of 5 days, the positive impact of collective cooperation, the exchange of ideas and visions, and joint work for a healthier, more just, and more prosperous future for all the world’s population, noting that the second edition completed the dialogue that began in 2023 on population and health issues, in addition to To the “human development” axis, which is more comprehensive and consistent with people, and which emphasizes the importance of investing in human capital, to achieve sustainable development, by working to integrate human development into the core of the goals, and confronting the challenges of population and health within a more comprehensive framework, in an effort to achieve An integrated approach to human development.

The Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development pointed out that the activities of this year’s conference witnessed the holding of 165 main and dialogue sessions on population, health and human development, each of which was a witness to the breadth and depth of the discussions, as he participated In these sessions, 1,167 speakers, session chairs, and moderators represented international and local experts who shared their experience and knowledge, in addition to the presence of 112 international and Egyptian organizations that cooperated to advance the issue of human development, and nearly 4,000 trainees participated in the fellowship program, in addition to many sessions. The conference, organized by the Hospitals and Educational Institutes Authority to develop professional and skills training for young doctors, was attended by approximately 38.7 thousand participants.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar added that these numbers confirm the effective participation and fruitful cooperation that distinguished the Population, Health and Development Conference. The year 2024 also reflects the growing recognition that human development is not just concepts, frameworks and strategies, but rather a basic foundation upon which prosperous and just societies are built. He noted that the second edition of the conference provided the opportunity to discuss two pioneering initiatives, namely the National Program for Human Development and the National Health Strategy 2024. – 2030, as these two strategies represent a clear roadmap for achieving universal health coverage, enhancing aspects of national health security, and enabling individuals to achieve their full potential, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.

The Deputy Prime Minister explained that the National Development Program Humanity focuses on the social, health and environmental well-being of our citizens, ensuring that every Egyptian has the opportunities they need to live a healthy and dignified life, while giving the National Health Strategy 2024 – 2030 prioritizes preventive care, strengthens primary health care services, encourages health education and awareness, and stresses the importance of making data-based decisions.

During the closing session, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar reviewed in detail the recommendations and visions that resulted from the conference discussions. value, saying: “I affirm that together, we can create a future in which every Egyptian has the opportunity to live a healthy and dignified life.”
