At the beginning of his visit, today, to Minya Governorate, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, inspected Samalut Central Hospital, which  provides services for the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Human Building,” accompanied by Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, and Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Major General Imad Kadwani, Governor of Minya, Dr. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing for Infrastructure Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Abu Zeid, Deputy Governor of Minya, Dr. Essam Farhat, President of Minya University, and Dr. Anwar Ismail, Assistant Minister Health and Population for National Projects, Dr. Peter Wagih, Head of the Therapeutic Medicine Sector at the Ministry of Health and Population,  Dr. Maha Ibrahim, Head of the Secretariat of Specialized Medical Councils, with the participation of a number of MPs in Minya.

 Dr. Mustafa Madbouly confirmed, Ensuring the follow-up of the implementation of projects related to developing and improving the quality of medical services, as it is a top priority for the government’s work, while paying special attention to the villages and areas most in need.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the visit to this medical facility also aims to get acquainted with For the services provided within the framework of the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Human Building,” which enhances the state’s interest in human building and achieving sustainable development in all its dimensions.  

The Governor of Minya stated that the governorate has so far witnessed, within the framework of the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Human Building,” the provision of about a million services in various fields, most notably health care, therapeutic services, convoys, vaccinations, and presidential initiatives.

With regard to Samalut Central Hospital, Dr. Anwar Ismail, Assistant Minister of Health and Population for National Projects, explained that this edifice was developed within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts to improve the level of services provided to citizens, especially in the medical field, and work to provide Ways of medical care.

Dr. Reham Essam El-Din, Director of the Hospital, discussed aspects of the participation of “Samalut Central Hospital” Within the various presidential initiatives, especially the “New Beginning” initiative As well as “100 Health Days”, during which the hospital contributed about 82,000 various services. It also contributed, as part of the initiative to end waiting lists, in performing 2,319 surgical interventions in the fields of bones, brain, nerves, ophthalmia, and tumors, in addition to contributing greatly to the Golden 1000 Days initiatives, and viruses. Liver disease, early detection of cancerous tumors, as well as the initiative for early screening for causes of disability in newborns, which alone witnessed the examination of nearly 20,000 children.

The Prime Minister and his companions toured Samalut Central Hospital, accompanied by an explanation from Dr. Reham. Essam El-Din, Director of the Hospital, to learn about the most important elements of development, aspects of raising the efficiency of the hospital, and the services provided.

The tour included the nursery department for newborns, as well as the isolation and orthopedic rooms, as the Prime Minister was keen to hold a friendly dialogue with A number of patients, to learn about the quality of services provided to them, and the level of medical care, as they confirmed that the hospital staff directs full care to patients and provides services to the fullest. 

The Prime Minister was also keen, during his visit to the hospital’s dialysis unit When patients who receive this service were asked about the regularity of its provision according to their health condition, on a weekly and monthly basis, they also praised the service provided and its regularity.  

The hospital director indicated that the development of Samalut Central Hospital included the creation of a number of medical services, namely: the pediatric care unit, the joint surgery unit, the pediatric bone deformities surgery unit, the spine surgery unit, and the multiple sclerosis treatment unit. The Stroke Unit, the Pediatric Surgery Unit, the Maxillofacial Surgery Unit, the Plastic Surgery Unit, the Orthopedic Endoscopy and Sports Injuries Unit, in addition to a department specializing in oncology surgery, where she also touched on the position of mechanizing the medical services provided by the hospital in its various departments to develop and accelerate service delivery. , noting that the hospital was accredited by the Health Accreditation and Control Authority in December 2023.  

Dr. Reham Essam El-Din added that the development also included increasing the capacity of Samalut Central Hospital, to 90 beds for internal departments, And 32 intensive care beds for adults, 8 intensive care beds for children, 21 nurseries for newborns, 14 emergency trolleys, 5 equipped operating rooms, 43 dialysis units, in addition to a regular radiology unit, an MRI unit, a CT scan unit, and blood research laboratories. And a chemistry laboratory, and a blood storage bank.
