The Prime Minister is following up on securing the energy supplies necessary to sustain the operation of electrical stations

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, during the meeting held this Monday evening, followed up on efforts to secure the energy supplies necessary to sustain the operation of electrical stations, in the presence of Engineer Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Ahmed Kojok, Minister of Finance, and Engineer Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. 

The Prime Minister indicated that the goal of the meeting is to secure the energy supplies necessary to sustain the operation of electrical stations during the coming periods in a way that ensures the provision of electrical capabilities that Egyptian families need it, as well as the continuation of the work of the various sectors of economic activity.

 

Madbouly added:" Today, we are following up on efforts to increase the capabilities of new and renewable energy plants that enter service successively,” stressing the government’s interest in optimizing the operation of power plants, which contributes to achieving more savings in consumption. 

 

< p>Meanwhile, the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy said that there is full coordination with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources in order to work to increase the rates of electricity generation from highly efficient plants, noting also interest in ways to rationalize Consumption. p>

 

The Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy also presented the Ministry’s various efforts to increase the rate of production capacity of new and renewable energy, as well as the executive position of the Egyptian electrical interconnection project. Saudi Arabia.

 

In turn, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources referred to the government’s efforts made during the last period, to pay the monthly bill of foreign partners’ dues; Which contributes to accelerating the pace of production again, which is reflected in increasing production capabilities, noting that the incentive measures that were announced yielded positive results at the end of last December through the addition of new petroleum products, saying: " This will contribute to saving the cost of an additional import bill worth $1.5 billion annually, starting this January.

 

During the meeting, engineer Karim Badawi presented the exploratory drilling plan during 2025/ 2026, which contributes to providing an import bill for Egypt during the coming period. The Minister also presented the planned and actual amounts to import the petroleum products required during the second half of this year. General.
