The Prime Minister confirmed, at the beginning of his visit to the temple, that this inspection comes within the framework of a follow-up to his previous directive to carry out restoration work for the “Habu” temple.

 

Dr. Bahaa Abdel Jaber explained that the “Habu” temple It was built by King Ramesses III of the Twentieth Dynasty, confirming that the temple restoration project began in March 2022 and will continue until May 2023 with pure Egyptian hands, as “Habu” is considered A masterpiece of art with the beauty of its contents and the distinctiveness of its colours.

 

While Dr. Ahmed Abdel Nazeer confirmed that the number of restorers of the "Habu" Temple More than 85 graduates of archeology colleges and restoration institutes.

 

The director of the temple noted that the restoration operations included removing dust, soot, and calcifications resulting from weather factors, using safe, non-harmful materials, especially for antiquities, to restore Restoration in a manner commensurate with the true origin of the temple. In addition to showing the colors of the archaeological inscriptions, strengthening them, and strengthening the wall joints.

 

Dr. Ahmed Abdel Nazeer indicated, in the same context, that the restoration work included dismantling and reassembling the facade of the princesses’ palaces from Twenty-sixth Dynasty; The foundation was reinforced, the stones used in the facade were strengthened, and they were returned to their natural place after they had a separation and inclination of 25 cm. He added that reviews were made and a path was rehabilitated to suit visitors of special needs. In addition to carrying out restoration work in the main lobby of the temple to show the colors.

 

The temple director indicated that the "Habu" temple It consists of two open courtyards, and ends with the Hypostyle Hall, then the Holy of Holies. He explained that the walls of the temple were decorated with scenes of the war battles that the king fought, in addition to scenes representing the king’s offerings to the various gods, the most important of which is the Theban trinity (Amun, Mut, and Khonsu).

Dr. Ahmed Abdel Nazeer explained that these efforts were made based on the directives of the Prime Minister, and under the supervision of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

At the conclusion of the inspection, the Prime Minister explained that all necessary requirements would be provided to raise The efficiency of the temple is proportional to its archaeological and historical value.        

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly also stressed his full support for raising the efficiency of archaeological temples, including the “Habu” Temple, and providing all the necessary capabilities for that goal in order to achieve it as soon as possible.
