The President of Sohag University inspects the voting processes in the Student Union elections
Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, conducted an inspection tour to follow up on the progress of the voting and voting processes for the first round of the Student Union elections for the academic year 2024/2025, within a number of committees in the Faculties of Physical Education and Law, at the new university headquarters, accompanied by Dr. Shaaban Helmy and Dr. Mamdouh Al-Sayed Wakala. Faculty of Physical Education, Dr. Samir Abu Al-Majd and Dr. Zein Al-Abidin Mohamed at the Faculty of Law, Dr. Alaa Ghaleb, head of the Students for Egypt family, Dr. Mohamed Kamal, coordinator General of Student Activities, and Dr. Ahmed Atef, Director General of the General Administration of Central Youth Welfare.
During his tour, the university president explained that the Student Union elections are a vital experience and real training for electoral life in the country, and contribute to developing the spirit of leadership and effective participation among students. They are like legislative regulations that express the opinions and aspirations of students, a translation of democracy and freedom of opinion, and provide opportunities for students. To choose those in whom they find the ability and competence to represent them in all transparency and integrity, noting that the voting and voting processes witnessed a large turnout and a civilized image on the part of the students, taking into account adherence to the rules. And the instructions regulating the electoral process, wishing success and success to all students and choosing a distinguished student union council that is as trustworthy and responsible as possible.
Dr. Abdel Nasser Yassin, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and Chairman of the Committee Supervising the Elections, said that today the elections for the first round of the Student Union began, and voting committees were opened to students to elect members of student committees in colleges, through bottle boxes to ensure credibility, with a committee supervising the Each box consists of a faculty member and two non-candidate students. In the event that a quorum is not reached, runoff elections will be held tomorrow, Monday, and on Tuesday, elections for committee secretaries and their assistants in the colleges will be held, provided that the elections end. Dr. Ahmed Atef added that after receiving appeals from candidates running for elections, the number of candidates for the student union elections this year reached 768, including 479 male and 289 female students, explaining that the results of the first round will be announced today after the completion of the voting and vote counting processes.
