The President of Mansoura University participates in activities "ALECSO Organization for the Twinning of Arab Universities" In Sharjah
Dr. Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, participated today, Wednesday, in the opening activities of the “Second Forum for the Twinning of Arab Universities,” which is organized by the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), under the slogan “Green Entrepreneurship and Voluntary Environmental Teams in Arab Universities: Prospects for Cooperation.” Joint, hosted by the University of Sharjah, in the presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, President of the University of Sharjah, Dr. Hamid Al Nuaimi, Director of the University of Sharjah, and a group of Arab leaders and university presidents from Arab countries, to enhance academic cooperation and exchange ideas and experiences.
The conference comes within the framework of cooperation between Arab universities and international institutions concerned with the scientific research and sustainable development sector, to enhance cooperation in advancing comprehensive economic and social development, with broad and effective Arab and international participation, in line with the development witnessed by the international arena in the field of scientific and technological research, entrepreneurship and innovation. The circular economy and the green economy, which pushes it towards progress and excellence, and which creates all the opportunities for university youth on whom we count on building the future.
During the opening activities, a visual presentation was presented by the German Johannes Gutenberg University entitled “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Higher Education,” which addressed the most important challenges facing higher education institutions and how to benefit from artificial intelligence techniques and applications, whether at the level of teaching and learning, or scientific research and services supporting the educational process. Then, an introductory film was shown about the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization and the ALECSO Award for Creativity and Innovation for researchers in the Arab world. The opening session activities concluded with the announcement of the winners of the ALECSO Award for Creativity and Innovation for researchers in the Arab world.
Dr. Sherif Khater participated in the scientific session entitled “The Role of Universities in Leadership and Innovation” with a lecture on environmental volunteer work at Mansoura University. At the beginning, he stressed his happiness to participate in the Arab Universities Twinning Forum, pointing out the importance of concerted efforts to implement a strategy towards creating active, sustainable mechanisms for cooperation between… Institutions in the Arab world working in the field of research, development and innovation.
Dr. Sherif Khater also pointed out Mansoura University’s keenness to implement the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research and Egypt’s Vision 2030, and to implement the directives of the Egyptian political leadership to strengthen partnerships with Arab and international universities to build scientific cadres capable of enhancing the scientific research environment and exchanging scientific and research experiences.
Dr. Khater also stressed that Mansoura University seeks, through its strategy, to improve the quality of graduates and achieve competitiveness by preparing distinguished students in various fields to meet the needs of the labor market at all local and international levels. It also has many educational programs and scientific specializations that are internationally accredited, as well as Educational programs in partnership with international universities, in addition to the university’s distinction in technological aspects and digital transformation, and its obtaining the Egyptian government excellence awards in this regard, as well as obtaining the award for the best environmentally friendly university.
Dr. Sherif Khater reviewed Mansoura University’s vision and mission, pointing out its most prominent points of distinction and its obtaining institutional accreditation as the first Egyptian university accredited by the National Authority for Quality Assurance of Education and Accreditation in Egypt, and 10 of its colleges obtaining accreditation. It also has a medical sector that includes 13 hospitals and specialized medical centers. It has a distinguished reputation and standing locally and internationally. It has been accredited by the Arab Council for Medical Specialties, affiliated with the Council of Arab Ministers of Health, to obtain the Arab Board in various clinical and medical specialties. It also has an academic and research level and an honorable international classification, which is reflected at the level of students and researchers.
Dr. Sherif Khater presented the role of Mansoura University in achieving environmental volunteer work and sustainability, noting the presence of a large number of units of a special nature at the university, which provide consulting services and various research projects. He also pointed out the university’s participation in various presidential initiatives such as the 100 Million Trees Initiative, and community initiatives. And environmental ones that support sustainability and environmental work, such as medical and multidisciplinary convoys, food and supply convoys, awareness-raising, the Dakahlia Without Illiteracy Initiative, the initiative to revive small, medium and heritage industries, environmental initiatives, sports marathons, environmental competitions, and the launch of events in conjunction with the relevant international days.
