The Police Academy "Egyptian Center for Training in Peacekeeping Operations, affiliated with the College of Training and Development" By organizing the fourth annual meeting to coordinate the affairs of the police component of the African Union, in cooperation with the African Union Commission, during the period from 25 to 29 November 2024, in the presence of 35 participants from representatives of (the African Union Commission – African groupings – donors and partners – the tasks of African peace support operations – Egyptian officers concerned with the preservation file Peace).
This meeting aimed to enhance coordination, communication, cooperation and integrated consultation between (the police components of the African Union Commission – the regional planning elements of the African Standby Force – the Department of Peace Support Operations and the… African Union for strategic police support) leading to development The capabilities of the African police cadres assigned to participate in peace support operations led by the African Union or supported by the African Standby Force.
The delegations were received by Major General Assistant Minister of Interior – Head The Police Academy and a number of leaders of the College of Training and Development, who conveyed during his speech the greetings of the Minister of the Interior, who is paying great attention to the activities of the meeting, stressing his keenness to build bridges of communication with the Union. In the belief of the Egyptian Ministry of Interior in the importance of international security cooperation in the field of training and building the capabilities of Egyptian and African cadres participating in operations to maintain and support peace and security at the regional and international levels.
He also reviewed During his speech, he highlighted the contributions of the Egyptian Ministry of Interior to peacekeeping operations under the banners of the United Nations and the African Union, as well as the efforts undertaken by the Police Academy towards providing all aspects of support to train African security cadres in various fields of security work, as well as the role of the Egyptian Center for Training in Peacekeeping Operations in Training and building the capabilities of peacekeeping and support cadres at the national, continental and international levels.
For their part, Major General Rakn – Executive Secretary of Qudra North Africa Region, and the lady in charge of the Police Planning Department at the African Union Commission, during their speeches, expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Interior, represented by (the Police Academy "Egyptian Center for Training in Peacekeeping Operations"), explaining that organizing this meeting comes within the framework of the distinguished relations between Egypt and the African Union. They stressed their appreciation for the Egyptian state as one of the largest countries contributing to United Nations peacekeeping missions, praising the contributions of the Egyptian police cadres. And their pivotal and effective role in supporting stability, maintaining and building peace in conflict areas in UN peacekeeping missions, pointing to the African Union’s aspiration to strengthen joint cooperation mechanisms, especially in the training fields that are compatible with the requirements of peace support missions.
