The Permanent Committee for Follow-up of Egyptian-African Relations discusses ways to enhance pharmaceutical exports to Africa
In light of the state’s intention to enhance Egyptian exports in the field of pharmaceutical industries, vaccines, and medical supplies abroad, especially to the African continent, the Permanent Committee for Follow-up of Egyptian-African Relations, headed by Ambassador Abu Bakr Hafni Mahmoud, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, held a meeting today to discuss the availability of medicines and medical supplies. Egyptian exports to the African market, and the role that Egyptian state agencies can play to enhance these exports and confront any obstacles, in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Health and the Unified Purchasing Authority, The Egyptian Medicines Authority, the Arab Company for Pharmaceutical Industries and Medical Supplies, and the Export Council for Medical Industries, with the participation of the relevant sectors of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The aim of the meeting was to exchange visions and ideas with the aim of reaching specific recommendations about Ways to stimulate and facilitate the access of Egyptian medicine to the African market, including establishing an Egyptian alliance for manufacturers of medicines and medical supplies from Egyptian companies from the public and private sectors, and establishing and identifying a national body concerned with facilitating Egyptian pharmaceutical companies’ access to African markets, as well as benefiting from logistical centers on the African continent to enhance access to African markets.
