Dr. Nazir Muhammad Ayyad – Mufti of the Republic, Head of the General Secretariat of Fatwa Houses and Bodies in the World, participated this morning in the opening of the Cairo International Book Fair in its fifty-sixth session. Dr. Ahmed Hanno, Minister of Culture, opened the exhibition held at the Exhibition Center in the Fifth Settlement.
He also received His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Hanno, Minister of Culture, in the Dar Al-Iftaa pavilion at the exhibition. His Eminence the Mufti reviewed with the Minister of Culture and the guests the Dar Al-Iftaa pavilion at the exhibition, and Dar Al-Iftaa is participating strongly this year through a large number of publications, in addition to the seminar hall, which this year will witness a large number of important and diverse seminars and meetings in which a number of scholars, specialists, and figures of thought and culture will participate.
The Mufti of the Republic also reviewed with the guests the biography of His Eminence Sheikh Muhammad Bakhit Al-Mutai’i, the former Mufti of Egypt, who is a personality. Dar Al-Iftaa is at this year’s exhibition, through the film prepared by Dar Al-Iftaa about his biography, his writings, and aspects of his life.
The Minister of Culture met during this tour with: Dr. Osama Al-Sayyid Al-Azhari – Minister of Endowments, and Dr. Muhammad Al-Duwaini – Undersecretary of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Counselor Mahmoud Fawzi, Minister of Parliamentary and Legal Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Al-Harrasi, Minister of Information of the Sultanate of Oman, and Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, and Dr. Ahmed Bahi El-Din, Chairman of the Egyptian General Book Authority.
