The Mufti of the Republic heads to Pakistan to participate in the global conference: "Girls’ education in Muslim societies: challenges and opportunities"

Dr. Nazir Ayyad – the Mufti of the Republic, Head of the General Secretariat of Fatwa Houses and Bodies in the World – went to the Pakistani capital, “Islamabad”, to participate in the work of the global conference: “Girls’ Education in Muslim Societies: Challenges and Opportunities”, which is being held in The period is from 10 to 14 January 2025. 

The conference will be held under the patronage and presence of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, at the initiative of the Muslim World League headed by His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Abdul Karim Al-Issa, and with broad international participation that includes representatives of international organizations, governments, Islamic organizations, senior religious, intellectual and media leaders, and civil society activists from various countries of the world.

His Eminence the Mufti is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech at the conference, during which he will shed light on the true Islamic concept of girls’ education and the challenges facing this issue. In addition to presenting a comprehensive vision derived from the legal texts supporting girls’ right to education, with an emphasis on the importance of confronting misconceptions regarding it. The World Conference comes based on its pioneering religious and intellectual role in confronting the issues that affect the present and future of the Islamic nation, foremost of which is the issue of Educating girls, which is considered a fundamental pillar for the renaissance and progress of Muslim societies.”

His Eminence added: “Islam, as a religion of science and civilization, clearly calls for supporting girls’ education and empowering them with their legitimate rights, and completely disavows any practices or ideas.” extremist groups obstruct this right, stressing that educating girls is the basis for building generations capable of advancing societies and challenging… Obstacles.”

His Eminence the Mufti pointed out that “the conference carries a clear message to the world that Islam supports all sincere efforts that contribute to empowering women for education and legitimate work, as they are essential partners in building civilization and humanity.”

The participation of His Eminence the Mufti of the Republic in this conference confirms Egypt’s pioneering role in supporting initiatives aimed at promoting tolerant Islamic values ​​and consolidating human rights, especially the right to education as a means of To advance Muslim societies and keep pace with global challenges.

The conference aims to launch initiatives and develop practical plans to confront the challenges that hinder girls’ education, and invest in opportunities to advance it in Muslim societies, in a way that enhances the role of women in building and developing their society in accordance with tolerant Islamic teachings.
