The Minister of Local Development announced that the Local Development Training Center in Saqqara witnessed, last Sunday, the launch of the 11th week of its training plan for localities for the current fiscal year 2024/2025, by implementing 5 training courses, which are: The “Investment Map for Egypt” course, the “Introduction to Programs and Performance within the framework of Developed Local Development Programs” course, the “Developing Leadership Skills in the Field of Improving the Environment, Solid Waste Management, and Adaptation to Climate Change” course, and the “Mental Health and its Impact on Raising… The level of performance, increased productivity, withstanding work pressures with positive energy, and dealing with citizens, in addition to the second and final week of the course for preparing future leaders (advanced level), and the total number of beneficiaries of these courses is 182 trainees.
The Minister of Local Development, the Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, and the Governor of Cairo, Dr. Ibrahim Saber, also held a meeting with Anacladia Rosbach, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, at the headquarters of the Al-Manara International Conference Center, To follow up on the ongoing preparations for Egypt to host the World Urban Forum at its twelfth session, “WUF12”, next November, in cooperation with “Habitat”.
Dr. Manal Awad and Dr. Ibrahim visited Saber, the work being carried out by the General Authority for Cleaning, Beautification and Lighting of Cairo to establish two new parking lots behind Al-Manara International Conference Center in Al-Mosheer Axis to provide parking spaces for delegations participating in the activities of the World Urban Forum in its twelfth session «WUF12» To accommodate the expected densities of participants in the forum.
The Minister of Local Development also participated in the meeting held by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, with Anna Claudia. Rosbach, the new Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme.
The Minister of Local Development congratulated the Arab Contractors Company and Damietta Governorate after the Engineering News Record- ENR global platform announced the awards Best Global Projects Awards for the year 2024. The Arab Contractors Company – for the fourth year in a row representing the Egyptian state – won two awards, which were as follows: Best Global Project in the Restoration Projects category for the historic Damietta Bridge rehabilitation project, which is the project that the Arab Contractors Company implemented for the benefit of Damietta Governorate. The opening of which was witnessed by Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, last April, accompanied by Dr. Assem Al-Gazzar, Minister of Housing, and Dr. Manal Awad, former Governor of Damietta, who adopted the idea of establishing the project.
Dr. Manal also held the meeting. Awad held a meeting with Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, Engineer Khaled Siddiq, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Urban Development Fund, and Dr. Rania Hedaya, Regional Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, and General Coordinator of the World Urban Forum, to follow up on the ongoing arrangements for hosting the World Urban Forum at its twelfth session, which is scheduled to be held in the city. The Minister of Local Development also received a delegation from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), headed by Mark Davis, Managing Director of the South and East Region. The Minister of Local Development met with Thomas Schama, the resident representative of the German Hans Seidel Foundation, Egypt and Lucinda Office. Elkhosht, project coordinator at the Foundation, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Local Development in the New Administrative Capital, in the presence of a number of leaders from the Ministry to discuss areas of joint cooperation between the two sides.

To discuss the demands of citizens in their districts and work to solve them in coordination with the governors, as well as follow up on efforts to improve the various services provided by the localities to the citizens of the governorates and to complete all service projects that affect the lives of citizens.
Also, The Minister of Local Development, Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim, received the Governor of Beni Suef, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Local Development in the New Administrative Capital. To follow up on the implementation of the presidential directives and assignments of the Prime Minister regarding the implementation of service and development projects of interest to citizens in various fields and important presidential initiatives on the territory of the governorate.
